November 22: Iraq Victory Day

The troops are having trouble finding things to do over there, the insurgents are all but thoroughly mopped up.

As far as any measure as we’re publicly willing to make is concerned, it’s over.

Now, is there still a problem with Islamic supremacism over there, with Assyrian Christians being murdered and run out of their homes? Sure.

But America is not willing to fight a war against Islamic supremacism, so that’s not relevant to what US forces are doing.  What we have beaten is the insurgency against the new Iraqi government and our troops.

Carolina Journal: Dems Target Private Retirement Accounts

RALEIGH — Democrats in the U.S. House have been conducting hearings on proposals to confiscate workers’ personal retirement accounts — including 401(k)s and IRAs — and convert them to accounts managed by the Social Security Administration.

Triggered by the financial crisis the past two months, the hearings reportedly were meant to stem losses incurred by many workers and retirees whose 401(k) and IRA balances have been shrinking rapidly.

The day America elected Barack H. Obama will not be remembered as the day the oceans stopped rising and the planet began to heal, if this is the kind of garbage in store for us.

Jealous. “It is clear now that our organization has completed its mission and now having nothing else to do, we will begin downsizing immediately, towards the goal of complete dissolution by December 2009, so we can move America forward.”
